I’m posting this is two categories. Sorry if you saw it before.

Is/Are there any objective, good Internet sites to assist someone in selecting an attorney to represent them in a first offense DUI charge in PA (specifically in Bucks county, PA)? We’re aware how to check out Pennsylvania attorney licenses, but can’t find much more online.
Also, ANY other information, tips, suggestions would be appreciated. The defendant was legally prescribed a controlled substance and had allegedly took it as directed. She had nothing to drink, however blood tests allegedly confirmed the presence of the controlled substance in her system (as would be expected). The warning sticker on the prescription container said "Use care when operating a car or dangerous machinery." It did NOT say "Do not drive." She told me the officer told her it is illegal to drive when taking a controlled substance – EVEN AS DIRECTED!
A preliminary haring date has not been set although charges were filed.
The woman is in her mid 50′s and was never arrested before. I’ve never seen her drink any alcohol and she swears the last time she drank was when she was 21; she doesn’t like alcohol.

She’s receiving many offers through the mail from lawyers who must have seen this charge and since she never needed a lawyer before, is stressing herself (and everyone around her!) sick. None of her friends or family know a good criminal defense attorney to suggest. WE NEED YOUR HELP. She said the officer pulled her over around midnight and didn’t say why. But when she got her insurance card out of the center console, the officer saw her prescription bottle and asked if they were hers. When she said yes, he THEN told her she appeared impaired and asked her to do sobriety tests. She "passed" the first one, but said she was shaking so much from being cold and scared, that her legs were too shaky to walk heel to toe, so she was cuffed and taken for a blood sample. She cooperated 100%.
1- How do we find the best attorney for her?
2- Are there questions she/we should ask the attorney during the free consultation?
ANY advice would be really appreciated.
THANK YOU.

My friend told me about this trick to avoid a DUI but it sounds too good to be true. When a cop pulls you over and you’ve been drinking, pull over and throw your keys on the ground. Then when the officer gets to your car finish your drink in front of him. This way you can blame the results of any breathalyzer on that drink. You’ll probably get an open bottle ticket and disorderly conduct or something but not a DUI. Any cops or lawyers that can shed some light on this?

Thank you for all the answers, I like to give more details regarding this matter..
We are already in a probate and I do already have a probate attorney but since the case in complicated that’s why I need to get help from experts…
there was not will and we went to probate and we opened a probate, one of our family members in usa is the administrator of the estate and as I mentioned before the beneficiaries are in iran and they can not come to usa at all…..
we have 4 beneficiaries in Iran, 3 of them are going to sign a disclaimer to pass the estate to the next kin, but the last one has a minor daughter and since we do not want to have a guardian for that , we thought she might be able to give the person in usa a power of attorney to act behalf of her and give away her share of the estate…I am aware of the inheritance taxes and we are going to pay all but I need to find out if the power of attorney from her signed in iran (Switzerland embassy in iran) will be accepted by court and bank here or not!!! non of the beneficiaries can not come to usa and they are not willing to come to usa…
In addition can the administrator of the estate give away the property or money from the estate to somebody else beside the beneficiary when there is no will or not!!
Appreciate all the help and the answers
Thank you
like to find out if Us Probate court or any bank located in USA will accept a power of attorney signed by iranian beneficiaries located in iran (Iranian nationality) But Notarized in Embassy of Switzerland again located in Iran.
Basically they are the beneficiaries of a us citizen estate, and they like to sign a power of attorney and appoint a us citizen in usa as attorney in fact to distrbute the estate …..that’s why I need to find out if usa will accept a power of attorney from Iran or not, Please advice
Thank you in advance

Let me give you a little background~
My son passed away a couple years ago and I am a co representative of the estate along with my ex wife. My ex wife hired an attorney (which is her probate attorney) to pursue wrongful death case. I was not comfortable with "her" attorney acting on my best interest because of bad water between us. So my probate attorney offered to stay on the case and and review all documents prepared by the other attorney to assure that my best interest was in mind. My probate attorney worked out an agreement with the other attorney so that he gets paid a percentage of the wrongful death attorney’s recovery. We were very confident in the work provided by our probate attorney but now feel that since "her" attorney is essentially paying him he is more on their side than ours. During our first recovery and distrubtion my ex wife and I agreed to put an amount equivelent to our personal representative fee in a college account for our daughter. The estate paid directly to the college fund. By doing this we did not have to pay taxes on the PR Fee becuase we didn’t actuall claim it we set an amount equivelent to to the college fund.

My question is we have another large settlement coming, my ex wife and I are each entitled to claim 3% for a personal repesentative fee. I want to put the fee in the college account just as we did before. But, my probate attorney is claiming that we should not claim the pr fee because it will be taxed as income. I have tried explaining that I want to do exactly as before and she is adament that we should not take the fee.

Lets just say that the recovery was M and the other attorneys fee is 40% if I take the PR fee does that come off of the M or the 0K left after the attorney fees? My only assumtion is that they do not want us to take the PR Fee becuase it will make them personally recover less? Our probate attorney told me that the PR Fee is paid on what is left after the attorney’s fees…is that correct?

We are in Florida
I am typing this for my husband

My dad died and had no will. He owed on his house and I am sure the bank has that.

My question is he has a 2004 Ford Taurus that is wrecked that he owes 00 on. He took out the airbags the check engine light is on and the right side has body damage. Also no air. I have the car in my possesion. It is insured currently under my name and the registration is due.

I am emotionally overwelmed at this time and can’t seem to make since of the probate process and I can’t afford an attorney.

I would like to know if I register it is it worth it? When can they take it? They won’t tell me anything because he had no will and it went to the judge/state for probate. How do I tell them that I have the car and that I use it for purposes of taking my son to Children’s Primary Hospital and that I drove it to take my dad to the VA all the time?

Can someone please help soon? If I register it under his name I need to do it by the 1st. of May.

Thank you so much for any and all advise
So how can I register it in my name if I do not have the title?

However, there are 5 beneficiaries and one of the beneficiaries recently went and took a car from the estate against the will of the administrator of the estate. Well, I have many questions and this is becoming an increasingly stressful process and I just want someone to take this process over so that I do not have to deal with it anymore. The administrator of the estate is an attorney himself and he does not have my best interest at heart. I have many questions and I need to know if I should get an estate attorney or probate attorney to turn this situation over to so I do not have to be so stressed out all the time.

My sister has petitioned the court to evict me from my father’s. Recently my lawyer and the estate’s probate attorney talked in the hallway before the hearing. The probate attorney told my lawyer, I have a learning disability. Which is a lie. She has yelled at me in front of people and she has accused me of doing things I have not. She does not know me, I have met the woman three times. In the past I have ignored her, knowing what she says is not true. But her comment implying I’m mentally handicapped is eating me up! What is her strategy, if any? What actions can I take against her, with out lowering my standards? How can I be expected to have any relationship with her in the future?
